A much quieter side of T-Sean emerges on “Tears Tequila Shots,” a somber Dancehall/Afropop record from the Zambian music star. Released on September 29, 2026, the song appears as the third track on his five-track tribute EP, Woke Up Missing You.

The record was created around the grief following the unexpected passing of T-Sean’s wife, Sharai, on July 27, 2026. Through the imagery of tears and tequila, the singer explores the overwhelming weight of loss and the ways people sometimes try to cope when facing pain that feels impossible to process.

Musically, “Tears Tequila Shots” moves away from the energetic sound associated with some of T-Sean’s earlier releases. His delivery is slower and more restrained, with vulnerable melodic passages and sharper vocal moments reflecting the changing intensity of grief.

As one of the central songs on Woke Up Missing You, the track adds considerable depth to a project built from personal experiences and memories. Its raw presentation allows T-Sean to communicate vulnerability without relying on an overly elaborate arrangement.
