South African artist and producer Skhanga brings together KaMaphanga and Yolokazi for “Thando lwathola kabi,” a new Maskandi-inspired release that connects traditional sounds with a modern touch. Released on September 10, 2026, through Skhanga Entertainment.
“Thando lwathola kabi” draws from the rich sound of modern Zulu music, combining acoustic guitar work with contemporary production. Mduduzi Khanyile handles the acoustic guitar, while Thabiso Shange contributes as co-producer and Nzuzo Ndiyazi serves as co-executive producer.
The collaboration gives the track a strong vocal presence, with KaMaphanga and Yolokazi joining Skhanga to deliver a record rooted in South African traditional music while maintaining a contemporary feel.
With its Maskandi foundation and carefully arranged production, “Thando lwathola kabi” adds another entry to Skhanga’s growing catalogue and continues his exploration of modern Zulu sounds.
