South Africa’s underground Amapiano scene gets another standout moment with BenzooSA and Jeep Jack ZA on “Weralang.”
Released on September 9, 2024, the seven-minute-plus track brings together atmospheric production, deep log drums, and a dance-focused sound that reflects BenzooSA’s production style.
Taken from BenzooSA’s five-track EP, Aba Suke Lapho, “Weralang” develops through an extended instrumental arrangement rather than rushing toward a quick finish. The production combines spacious chords with heavy percussion and rolling log drums, creating a hypnotic groove that keeps the record moving.
Jeep Jack ZA adds to the collaboration with a performance that fits naturally into the track’s underground direction. The two artists have also worked together on records such as “Ba kae” and “Strata,” further highlighting their established creative connection.
At 7 minutes and 9 seconds, “Weralang” gives the production enough room to breathe while maintaining the dance-driven energy associated with Amapiano.
It remains one of the notable tracks from Aba Suke Lapho and another example of BenzooSA’s contribution to the South African electronic and Amapiano space.
