Ghanaian music star Black Sherif steps into a warmer and more hopeful space with SUN SHERIF, a six-track EP that introduces another side of his evolving artistry.
Also presented as SUN SHERIF VOL. 1, the project arrived on September 4, 2026, via RBA / EMPIRE, following the release of his sophomore album, IRON BOY.
Running for approximately 15 minutes, the compact project reflects a noticeable change in mood and direction. Black Sherif moves away from some of the darker themes that have shaped his previous work, including survival, uncertainty, street pressure, and existential struggles. In their place comes a more optimistic perspective built around love, hope, self-belief, vulnerability, and personal growth.
Musically, SUN SHERIF moves across Afrobeat gospel, R&B/Soul, and street-influenced Afrosounds, giving the project enough variety while preserving the emotional honesty that has become central to Black Sherif’s music.
The opening track, “Expresso,” introduces the reflective tone, while “Run Around” examines the confusion and tension that can surface in relationships. “Forever” featuring AratheJay brings faith and spiritual reflection into the picture, followed by the romantic warmth of “Jolie.”
Black Sherif then keeps the momentum going with “Frontline” before bringing the EP to a close with “Love Again” featuring Full Blown, an emotionally driven record about healing, vulnerability, and finding the courage to embrace love once more.
